# 006 — The scoreboard has to survive zero.

I built the impact scorecard before there was an impressive number to put in it. That is when a measurement standard is still allowed to tell the truth.

A scoreboard built after success usually knows what answer it is supposed to produce. The definitions bend toward the available win. Reach becomes impact, a sale becomes transformation, and a kind reply becomes proof that the whole system works.

Building it at zero removes that pressure. There is no impressive result to protect. I can decide in advance that views belong on the reach line, completed delivery belongs on the delivery line, use belongs on the use line, return behaviour gets its own line, and evidence of change is the first place an impact claim can begin.

That is why I turned the proof ladder into a working scorecard. It asks for the promise and intended change before it asks for a number. Then it keeps distribution, delivery, use, return, and change separate. If a later number is larger than an earlier one, it asks whether the cohorts and reporting windows actually match.

The tool also refuses to promote a change count without an evidence method. Who reported or observed it? When? What can the evidence not prove? A number without those limits is not stronger because it is precise. It is only easier to repeat.

The current SIX33 scorecard still says zero verified lives impacted. Shipping a measurement tool does not change that. It proves a definition was written and a useful thing was delivered. Those are real steps, but they stay on their own lines.

Anyone can use the scorecard without an account. The working draft stays in the browser, it can be printed, and it can be exported as JSON. That matters because an integrity tool should not require someone to hand over their data before they can use it.

The hope is not a prettier dashboard. It is a public sentence that survives scrutiny: this many people were reached, this many received the promise, this many used it, this many returned, and this many have evidence of the intended change. If the last number is zero, the sentence still works.
