Ministries tend to fail at measurement in one of two directions. Some round up: every crowd becomes “thousands reached,” every hand raised becomes a soul saved, and the report grows faster than the church. Others refuse to count at all: only God knows the heart, so any number feels unspiritual. Both leave leaders guessing, donors trusting the wrong things, and new believers slipping through the gaps between the event and the next Sunday.

Paul gives the right posture in one sentence: “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.” We do not manufacture growth, so we should never report it as our product. But planting and watering are real work, and they can be observed honestly. And Scripture itself counts — with care. Acts 2:41 records that “there were added that day about three thousand souls.” Notice the word about. The first church report labelled its own estimate.

This guide gives you a simple record any church, outreach team, or ministry can keep: five levels on separate lines, a label on every number, a follow-up window that turns a moment into discipleship, and a report people can actually trust.
