The age is a copy machine. It will print a version of you that is anxious, ironic, outraged, and always slightly behind. You do not have to sign up. You only have to leave your mind on the default setting.
Paul does not say, flee the world and never touch a phone. He says do not be conformed. Stay sharp. Let your mind be renewed so you can test what is actually the will of God — not what is trending, not what would play well, not what your fear already decided.
Seek first is the same fight in different words. If the Kingdom is not first, the age will be. The feed will catechize you before breakfast. Comparison will write your liturgy. Stay on mission requires a mind that can tell the difference between a real assignment and a manufactured crisis.
Renewal is not a vibe. It is a practice. Scripture before the scroll. A walk without headphones. A conversation that is not a debate you already won in your head. Sleep. A body that is stewarded. The quiet yes. None of that looks like a rebrand. It is how a person becomes able to discern.
I am not interested in a faith that baptizes whatever the age already wanted. Agents of the Gospel carry good news into a world they have not been discipled by. That requires a mind that has been elsewhere — with the King, in secret, in the chapter, in the room.
If you have been copying the age, you are not ruined. Transformation is present tense. Start smaller than your pride wants. One hour unconformed. Then another. Seek first. Stay sharp. The template can wait.
