It is easy to build in public once things are working. The hard version is now, when there is nothing to show and the honest update is 'still early.' So I am writing the rules down first, while I have no reason to bend them.
One: real numbers or no numbers. If I do not want to publish a figure, I will say I am not publishing it rather than dress up a vague one.
Two: post the failures at the same size as the wins. A log that only records progress is marketing wearing a lab coat.
Three: no fake momentum. No 'excited to announce' when nothing happened. If a month is quiet, the entry says the month was quiet.
Four: keep it readable by someone who does not care about brands. If it only makes sense to people already in the industry, I have drifted.
That is the deal. Follow along if you want to see whether I keep it.
